Tor service is not working. I have installed Tor on a command-line only environment (without the browser), so I can't type in check.torproject.org with a browser. Tor is used by a script to request data from clearnet.

The browser will start and offer a choice between an automatic connection to Tor's system of relays or a manual configuration. In most cases, the automatic setup will work on its own. To renew the Tor IP, i.e. to have a fresh visible exit IP, you need to be able to connect to the Tor service through it's ControlPort and then send a NEWNYM signal. Normal Tor installation does not enable the ControlPort by default. You'll have to edit your torrc file and uncomment the corresponding lines. At this point, check the reading on your multimeter. An NPN transistor that functions properly should show a voltage drop between 0.45 and 0.9 volts, and a PNP transistor should show an "over limit" message. Any signs on the multimeter that differ from these values could indicate bad transistor symptoms. From this page, you have to use systemd to configure Kali Linux.. So the command systemctl would replace service, and your example will become systemctl status tor.service or as .service are automatically added in systemd systemctl status tor

May 23, 2013 · i assumed that if it says "congratulations,your browser is configured to use tor,etc"that its working correctly right i was thinking about using another vpn because i dont really like how slow tor browser is.but all the free ones i looked at seem to log your user activity.which seems kinda pointless to me if your using it for anonymous web browsing Check if an IP is a TOR exit node.
